Speaker: Y.B. Dato’ Mah Siew Keong, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department

Everybody loves a comeback story and we have found one in YB Dato’ Mah Siew Keong. Born in Teluk Intan, Dato’ Mah started in politicis as an assemblyman for Pasir Bedamar (Perak) in 1995. He went to become a two-term Member of Parliament for Teluk Intan from 1999 to 2008. However, Dato’ Mah was swept under the ‘political tsunami’ during the 12th and 13th General Elections. The passing of his opponent saw Dato’ Mah coming into the recent Teluk Intan by-election as an underdog. Against all odds, Dato Mah’s victory in the hard-fought by-election returned him to Parliament and subsequently, appointed as a Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department. YB Dato’ Mah Siew Keong is making a comeback for a better Malaysia.
